Energy Business Forum
Lakewood,
Colo. – Jefferson County has experienced an explosion
in energy employment in the last five years, making it home
to one-third of the energy-related workforce in the Denver
Metro area. With industry leaders like the National Renewable
Energy Laboratory (NREL), the Colorado Energy Research Institute
(CERI), the Colorado Fuel Cell Center (opening in May),
and the Colorado School of Mines, Jefferson County is leading
the way in developing renewable energy technologies such
as solar, wind, and biomass.
On May 4, 2006, a panel of three energy experts spoke at
the Jefferson Economic Council's Energy business forum.
Entitled "Jefferson County Energy: Thinking Outside
the Grid," the business forum served to educate participants
on the current state of the energy market, the advancements
being made in the industry, and the opportunities for Jefferson
County to continue to excel in energy-related research and
development.
Moderated by Jefferson County Commissioner Kevin McCasky,
