Water and Sewer Services
Most of Jefferson County’s water is supplied from a network of reservoirs on
the western slope of the Rocky Mountains. These reservoirs are supplied by run-off
from snow melt. The Denver Water
Board is responsible for ensuring a continuous supply of water to the City and
County of Denver and nearly 50 percent of Denver Water customers who live in the
surrounding suburbs (water service contracts). Water and sewage treatment is provided by 46 local water and sanitation districts or municipalities within Jefferson County. The schedule of fees, charges, rates, capital improvement charges, tap fees, and any other charges vary from district to district. For more information or contact information on water and sanitation districts, contact the Special District Association of Colorado at 303-863-1733, or individual cities. |
