You can have the best of both worlds in Jefferson County. Our unique location and wonderful climate make a variety of outdoor activities possible. Some of the world's best ski resorts are within a short drive–yet you can still get in nine holes of golf in the foothills.

Since Jefferson County sits at the foot of the Rockies, our climate is extremely temperate, with over 250 days of sunshine each year.

A common misconception is that because of our proximity to Colorado's world-class ski resorts, that we have harsh winters. On the contrary, winter storms do not last long here–snow is melted away quickly with our mild winter temperatures.

Our mild, sunny, semi-arid climate makes Jefferson County a wonderful place to live.
