Since Jefferson County sits at the foot of the Rockies,
our climate is extremely temperate, with over 250 days of
sunshine each year.
A common misconception is that because of our proximity
to Colorado's world-class ski resorts, that we have harsh
winters. On the contrary, winter storms do not last long
here–snow is melted away quickly with our mild winter
temperatures.
