Jefferson Economic Council
is one of the oldest and largest economic development organizations
in Colorado. Our organization concentrates on creating,
expanding, and retaining high-paying primary jobs that fuel
the economic health and vitality of our community.

Recruitment, Retention, and Expansion
In 2006, JEC facilitated the creation or retention of 1,650 new high-paying primary jobs–resulting in over $120.5 million in new capital investment in Jefferson County.
Partnerships
JEC is the premier business organization in Jefferson County.
Through our dynamic working partnerships and relationships
with county government, cities, other economic development
organizations, chambers of commerce, and the business community,
our organization is working to create a common voice regarding
business issues and policy in the County.
Leadership
The greatest strength of any organization is its people.
JEC's investors, board of directors, and staff provide the
expertise to lead our organization's many initiatives. Members
of our board of directors and investors represent a variety
of industries and are among the top business leaders in
Jefferson County and metro Denver. Our investors and board
members serve on several volunteer committees that shape
business policy in our community.
Major Initiatives
Three major initiatives our organization has focused on
include training employers to develop employee telework
programs that decrease traffic congestion and increase employee
retention, advocating smart land-use policies to preserve
developable land in the County for job creation, and implementing
an economic impact model to determine the County's return
on investment in granting incentive requests. JEC is also
involved in other business issues facing Jefferson County,
such as transportation, workforce, telecommunications, and
growth strategies.

and Programs
Also, JEC is the source for customized business, demographic,
and economic data needed by businesses for market analysis
and site selection. In addition to the business information
found on our website, JEC's experienced staff can prepare
research reports tailored to the specific needs of your
business.
